Dr. Suriyan Supapvanich is an Associate Professor in Postharvest Technology at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Thailand. He earned his Ph.D. in Biosciences (Nutritional Science) from the University of Nottingham, UK, and has extensive expertise in postharvest biochemistry, fresh-cut fruit and vegetable technology, and quality preservation of horticultural crops. His research focuses on innovative postharvest technologies, including non-chemical treatments, cold chain management, and functional quality enhancement of fruits and vegetables. He has published extensively in leading international journals and serves as an Associate Editor of The Journal of Horticultural Science & Biotechnology.
报告简介:Marian plum is a highly perishable tropical fruit with limited shelf life due to rapid senescence during storage. This study evaluated a sequential nano-shield strategy combining preharvest salicylic acid (SA) and postharvest liposomal methyl jasmonate (MeJA) to improve fruit quality and extend shelf life. The combined treatment effectively maintained firmness, reduced oxidative stress, enhanced antioxidant defense, and preserved overall fruit quality during storage. Among the treatments, preharvest SA followed by postharvest liposomal MeJA showed the greatest efficacy in delaying senescence and maintaining marketability. These findings highlight a promising non-chemical postharvest strategy for improving the storage performance of Marian plum.
